Abstract:Memory safety is a key security property that stops memory corruption vulnerabilities. Existing sanitizers enforce checks and catch such bugs during development and testing. However, they either provide partial memory safety or have overwhelmingly high performance overheads. Our novel sanitizer PACSan enforces spatial and temporal memory safety with no false positives at low performance overheads. PACSan removes the majority of the overheads involved in pointer tracking by sealing metadata in pointers through A… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
