Pad-reinforced cylindrical shell loaded radially through a plate bracket attachment

Abstract: The constructional detail of a bracket attached to a pad-reinforced cylindrical vessel and subjected to a radial load is studied experimentally. An approximate analysis which is based on experimental observations of the load distribution in the bracket is developed. It allows a complete stress analysis of the reinforcing pad and vessel.
