In our previous study, we investigated PAH mass fluxes within the TGR with the aid of virtual organisms and concluded that even low detected concentrations in this water body correspond to a high mass flux of PAHs in total (Deyerling et al 2014) and consequently a high total input of these organic substances into the environment.
