Pain and Rehabilitation in Patients with Spinal Cord Injury.

Abstract: Abstract. When patients with chronic spinal cord injuries have pain as an accessory symptom, ADL training is delayed, and it is often difficult to take measures to cope with this situation. There have been very few reports on pain experienced by patients with spinal cord injuries in the world literature to date, and medical science today still does not know how to treat patients with spinal cord injuries accompanied by pain systematically. Against this background, to clarify the actual state of pain in chronic… Show more

“…The first difference between the studies was the definition of chronic pain, which varied from !3 to !6 months [3,4,47] to not being reported at all, and there was a need to seek clarification from the authors [4] or to assume that pain was chronic because of the use of the Chronic Pain Grade Questionnaire [5,37,45,46]. Lack of definition of pain chronicity resulted in the exclusion of six studies [7,11,[52][53][54] originally identified. Had definitions been clear, we may have identified additional information for the research questions.…”

“…Pain control is an important parameter in wound healing because it influences the application of treatment. The positive results observed with pain control may also contribute to its clinical application in therapy 22 ) . Many studies have focused on the effects of low-intensity laser therapy on the mechanisms of wound healing or the mechanical laser therapy approach, but few studies have shown a correlation with pain relief 9 , 20 , 23 , 24 , 25 ) .…”
