“…The ecological void caused by the ETMEE in both European and Mediterranean areas was filled in by Soaresirhynchia bouchardi in the aftermath of the Extinction, a species with opportunist features (García Joral and Goy, 2000;Gahr, 2005, García Joral et al, 2011, and later on by other species, Homoeorhynchia and Telothyris being the more representative genera. S. bouchardi extends over a wide area of Western Tethys, as stated earlier, whereas the subsequent assemblage is more restricted to westernmost areas, including the Andean Region in South America (Manceñido, 2002). The development of the Spanish Province lasts only until the Aalenian, when the former European -Mediterranean paleobiogeographical pattern is re-established.…”

“…At the beginning of the Jurassic, this area was located near the southern margin of the AlKaPeCa Microplate From a paleobiogeographical point of view, this area was situated near the margins of Africa and Iberia (Martín-Algarra and Vera, 2004), close to the western boundary between the Mediterranean and the European Provinces (the latter also referred to as the Northwestern European) (cf. Ager, 1967Ager, , 1971Ager, , 1973Vörös, 1977Vörös, , 1984Vörös, , 2002Vörös, , 2005Manceñido, 2002).…”

“…Particularly, the recognition of new ammonite, bivalve and brachiopod material will help to correlate the marine sequences at the Chubut Basin with coeval deposits of the Neuquén Basin, based on the available biostratigraphic schemes proposed by Manceñido (1981Manceñido ( , 1983Manceñido ( , 1990Manceñido ( , 2002Manceñido ( , 2010, Manceñido and Damborenea (1990), Damborenea and Manceñido (1992), Manceñido and Dagys (1992), Baker andManceñido (1997) Riccardi (2008) and Riccardi et al (1994Riccardi et al ( , 2011.…”

“…Paleobiogeographic categorization of biochores follows the nomenclature propsosed by Westermann (2000), subsequently adapted for the brachiopod fauna by several authors (e.g. Manceñido 2002, Vörös 2016.…”
