Palladium Modified FeCoS2 Nanosheet Arrays on Ni Foam as Bifunctional Electrodes for Overall Alkaline Water Splitting

Abstract: The development of high-efficient electrocatalysts with low applied voltage and robust stability is of great importance for electrolysis of water. In this work, a bifunctional electrode has been developed by growing palladium-modified FeCoS 2 nanosheet arrays on Ni foam (Pd-FeCoS 2 NAs/NF), which can serve as anode and cathode for alkaline water splitting with high activities and ultra-strong durability. The Pd-FeCoS 2 NAs/NF shows overpotentials of 130 mV for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and 202 mV for a… Show more

“…Furthermore, it promotes the structural organization of the system, leading to improved crystalline structure and ultimately resulting in enhanced charge transfer. 79 Among all the suggested molecules, TP8 exhibited highest dipole moment (8.235222 D) in the gas phase and (9.470745 D) in solution phase. The reason for this is the high electron withdrawing heterocyclic thiazole ring incorporated in terminal acceptor groups, which enhances the solubility and in turn reactivity of the molecule in chlorobenzene, which is also polar in nature.…”

“…23,24 However, the fly in the ointment is that the steps involved in the preparation of sulfides using these methods are cumbersome. Additionally, both the gas-phase vulcanization method 25 and the hydrothermal method 26 do not operate under room temperature and normal pressure, resulting in high equipment cost and complex, time-consuming operations.…”
