Cloud computing is a derive technology that is still uncertain to many security troubles. The security problem becomes difficult under the cloud model as new scope enter into the problem extent related to the architecture, multi lease, layer dependency, and flexibility. On the other hand, these new dimensions create new vulnerabilities and possible attacks on a cloud system. This survey paper introduces a detailed analysis about attacks that are exacerbated by exploitation of the cloud system along with possible solutions.

With an unprecedented pace of developments in Cloud computing technology, there has been an exponential increase of users of these services and an equal rise of cloud services providers. Clouding Computing is a virtual pool of resources provided to users as service through a web interface. These resources may include Software, Infrastructure, Storage, Network, Platform etc. With more and more organizations migrating their data over cloud, it is imperative to ensure security and integrity of their data. In this paper we 1) discuss the security challenges posed to data on the cloud computing. 2) Survey cryptographic algorithms that can be used to overcome these challenges. 3) Survey Security designs of 5 leading cloud service providers. 4) Perform a comparative study of security and features of these providers.

There is a lack in the literature of practical studies that address this problem in cloud computing platform. This paper demonstrates a practical analysis using OpenStack testbed to study the firewalls limitations in protecting virtual machines after LVMM. Two network scenarios are used to evaluate this problem. The results show that the security context problem does not exist in the stateless firewall but can exist in the stateful firewall.
