Palyno‐anatomical studies of monocot taxa and its taxonomic implications using light and scanning electron microscopy

Abstract: Palyno‐anatomical study of monocots taxa using Light and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was first time conducted with a view to evaluating their taxonomic significance. Studied plants were collected from different eco‐climatic zones of Pakistan ranges from tropical, sub‐tropical, and moist habitats. The aim of this study is to use palyno‐anatomical features for the correct identification, systematic comparison, and investigation to elucidate the taxonomic significance of these features, which are useful to… Show more

“…This observation matches with that previously reported by Abid and Qaiser (). Similarly, micromorphology of plant materials observed under SEM of various plants groups that is, monocots (Bahadur et al, , ) and other dicotyledon families (Ahmad et al, ). Foliar micromorphology (Ashfaq et al, ; Gul et al, ) and morphology of nanoparticle (Saqib et al, ) have been proved considerably in the correct identification of species.…”

“…Further taxonomic study of the is recommended for the correct identification. Micromorphology of plants material have been proven significant in correct identification and discrimination of the species Ashfaq et al, 2018;Ashfaq et al, 2019b;Bahadur et al, 2018b;Bahadur et al, 2019;Gul et al, 2019a;Gul et al, 2019b;Gul et al, 2019c;Naz et al, 2019;Sufyan et al, 2018;Bano et al, 2019;Nazish et al, 2019;Qureshi et al, 2019;Arshad et al, 2019;Rashid et al, 2018).
