“…In Egypt, it is described from the Berriasian-Valanginian of Dakhla Oasis, Egypt (Schrank and Mahmoud 1998), the Barremian of north Sinai (Aboul Ela and Tahoun 2010). This Zone is matched with the Barremian Aequitriradites spinulosus-cupressacites Assemblage Zone of Aboul Ela and Tahoun (2010), middle-late Barremian Aequitriradites spinulosus Interval Zone of Raafat et al (2021), and late Barremian Aequitriradites spinulosus Interval Subzone of Ied and Tahoun (2019).…”

“…This taxon was also recorded from the late Barremian of Germany (Prössl 1990), Hauterivian-Barremian of Israel (Brenner 1974), and England (Costa and Davey 1992). This zone can be matched with Tenua anaphrissa Interval Zone (Raafat et al 2021) and Pseudoceratium anaphrissum DC4 Interval Zone (Aboul Ela and Tahoun 2010) of middle-late Barremian age in north Egypt and with late Barremian Zone III in north Western Desert, Egypt (Ibrahim and Schrank 1996). The present zone is also correlated with Barremian Pseudoceratium anaphrissum-Muderongia staurota Assemblage Zone recognized by Thusu et al (1988) in NE Libya and the Aptea anaphrissum subzone of Barremian age (Williams 1977).…”

“…Recently, Gentzis et al [38] reported the common occurrence of D. sellwoodii within the Khatatba Formation and the last appearance datum in the lowermost part of the overlying lower Oxfordian Masajid Formation, suggesting an age no younger than Callovian. Similar age assignments were proposed for the same interval in the Shushan [15] and Matruh basins in the north Western Desert [39]. Furthermore, D. sellwoodii was used as a Bathonian-Callovian marker in Arctic Norway [40], the eastern Netherlands [41], England [42], and southern France [43].…”
