Pan-cancer analysis reveals NAA50 as a cancer prognosis and immune infiltration-related biomarker

Abstract: Background: N-Alpha-Acetyltransferase 50 (NAA50) has acetyltransferase activity and is important for chromosome segregation. However, the function and mechanism of NAA50 expression in cancer development was still unclear. Here, we systematically researched the function and mechanism of NAA50 in pan-cancer, and further verified the results of NAA50 in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD).Methods: In this study, using the online databases TIMER2.0, SangerBox3.0, HPA, UCSC, GEPIA, cBioPortal, UALCAN, TISIDB, CancerSEA and … Show more

“…Eleven proteins were exclusive to the 40 mM HU group ( Figure 4 A), some of which are recognized as characteristic of the parasite, such as the major egg antigen [ 45 ]. Others were related to nucleolar machinery such as PDK1, which is involved in cell growth and proliferation [ 46 ]; NAA50, which enables H4 histone acetyltransferase activity [ 47 ]; MCTS 1, an oncogene involved in cell cycle progress [ 48 ]; molecular scaffold cullin 1; the enzyme uridine-cytidine kinase 2; the guanine nucleotide exchange factor synembrin; and the enzyme CDP-diacylglycerol synthase.…”

“…Although NAA50 interacts with NAA10, its enzymatic activity differs [183,184]. In cancer, NAA50 regulates the cell cycle and proliferation in lung adenocarcinoma [185]. However, in plants NAA50 has been reported to play crucial roles in growth [186], development, and regulation of stress responses [187].…”
