Abstract:Pyruvate dehydrogenase kinases (PDKs) play a key role in glucose metabolism by exerting negative regulation over pyruvate dehyrogenase complex (PDC) activity through phosphorylation. Inhibition of PDKs holds the potential to enhance PDC activity, prompting cells to adopt a more aerobic metabolic profile. Consequently, PDKs emerge as promising targets for condition rooted in metabolic dysregulation, including malignance and diabetes. However, a comprehensive exploration of the distinct contribution of various P… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
