Abstract:Patients with underlying chronic pancreatitis (CP) are at increased risk of pancreatic cancer (PC) development. The pathogenesis of the neoplastic transformation remains unclear. However, chronic inflammation, pancreatic stellate cells over-proliferation and genetic alterations play a major role in carcinogenesis progression.
