COVID-19 bears various traumatic impacts on students. This study aims to identify PTSD symptoms in junior and senior high school students after the COVID-19 outbreak. The study was conducted using a cross-sectional survey method. Meanwhile, the data was collected using a problem checklist instrument. Further, the obtained data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics with the Mann-Whitney test to identify differences in PTSD symptoms based on gender and level of education. The results of the analysis show that symptoms appear in every physical, emotional, mental, behavioral, and spiritual aspect. Besides, we also found a significant difference in the level of anxiety disorder between male and female students after COVID-19, while there is no significantly distinct anxiety disorder between junior and senior high school students. In the end, we recommended that more in-depth research regarding the forms of intervention to reduce PTSD in students should be carried out. Abstrak: COVID-19 telah memberikan berbagai dampak traumatik bagi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi gejala PTSD pada siswa jenjang SMP dan SMA setelah pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode survey cross-sectional dengan teknik random sampling untuk pengumpulan data. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen daftar cek masalah. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik non-parametrik dengan uji Mann Whitney untuk melihat perbedaan gejala PTSD berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan jenjang pendidikan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa gejala muncul pada setiap aspek fisik, emosi, mental, perilaku, dan spiritual. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan tingkat gejala PTSD pasca COVID-19 antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan dan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara jenjang pendidikan SMP dan SMA. Peneliti memberikan rekomendasi untuk melakukan penelitian lebih mendalam terkait bentuk intervensi yang dapat dilakukan untuk mereduksi PTSD pada siswa di sekolah

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that children and adults can develop. A complex interplay of genetic and environmental factors may underlie interindividual variability in ADHD and potentially related aggressive behavior. Using high-resolution molecular biology techniques, we investigated the impact of some MAOA and SLC6A4 variations on ADHD and aggressive behavior in a group of 80 Italian children with ADHD and in 80 healthy controls. We found that homozygous genotypes of MAOA rs6323 and rs1137070 were associated with an increased risk of ADHD (p = 0.02 and p = 0.03, respectively), whereas the heterozygous genotypes (GT of rs6323 and CT of rs1137030) (p = 0.0002 and p = 0.0006) were strongly linked to a lower risk of developing this disorder. In patients with aggressive behavior, we highlighted only a weak negative association of both MAOA polymorphisms (heterozygous genotypes) with aggressiveness, suggesting that these genotypes may be protective towards specific changes in behavior (p = 0.05). Interestingly, an increase in the GG genotype of rs6323 (p = 0.01) and a decrease in GT genotype (p = 0.0005) was also found in patients without aggressive behavior compared to controls. Regarding 5HTT gene genotyping, no allele and genotype differences have been detected among patients and controls. Our work shows that defining a genetic profile of ADHD may help in the early detection of patients who are more vulnerable to ADHD and/or antisocial and aggressive behavior and to design precision-targeted therapies.

Resumo: O transtorno de estresse pós-traumático (TEPT) consiste em reações disfuncionais intensas e desagradáveis que têm início após um evento extremamente traumático. Este artigo objetivou analisar as respostas de estresse pós-traumático em estudantes do Ensino Superior no contexto da pandemia de Covid-19. Para tanto, aplicaram-se, virtualmente, um questionário sociodemográfico e a escala PCL-5 para rastreamento do transtorno de estresse pós-traumático (TEPT) em uma amostra de 427 estudantes cearenses, com coleta de dados no ano de 2022. A estatística descritiva foi utilizada para apresentação dos resultados, bem como a análise de consistência interna com o cálculo do Alfa de Cronbach e a análise de correlação de Pearson para o cálculo da correlação item-total. Verificou-se que 59,5% dos acadêmicos afirmou pertencer ao sexo feminino, 52,2% autodeclarou-se pardo e 84,5% alegou ser solteiro. O uso da PCL-5 evidenciou que, dentre as manifestações de TEPT, a extrema dificuldade para concentrar-se predominou, com 24,6%, enquanto o item sobre comportamentos de risco contra si próprio apresentou escores positivos, com apenas 3% dos universitários confirmando cometê-los. As maiores médias de respostas concentraram-se nos itens relacionados à dificuldade de concentração, perda de interesse por atividades antes prazerosas e lembranças ruins e repetitivas da experiência estressante, com, respectivamente, M = 3,38, M = 2,89 e M = 2,88. A análise da consistência interna revelou adequadas propriedades psicométricas, com valores de Alfa de Cronbach, para as dimensões 1 e 2 da PCL-5 e a escala global, em torno de 0,90, 0,92 e 0,96, nessa ordem, e uma correlação de Pearson, item-total, em todos os âmbitos averiguados da escala, superior a 0,500. Isso posto, sugere-se a realização de novas pesquisas a fim de conhecer outros aspectos da questão e identificar os seus desdobramentos na vida dos estudantes do Ensino Superior nos anos pós-pandêmicos.
