Pandemic flu: current threat and development of a preparedness framework

Abstract: Experts agree that an influenza pandemic is inevitable and possibly imminent, since the highly pathogenic H5N1 influenza virus is mutating rapidly, is affecting new hosts, and is expanding its geographic range.
