Papillary Muscle Injury after Blunt Chest Trauma

Abstract: In many cases blunt chest trauma involves cardiac lesions, such as pericardial effusion, aneurysma dissecans, or valvular rupture. Early diagnosis with routine transthoracic and/or transesophageal echocardiography is essential to prevent a fatal outcome.
