Papilomavirus en conjuntiva bulbar del tercer párpado en un perro: Reporte de caso

Abstract

Papilloma is a commonly benign neoplasm of viral etiology, with a cauliflower appearance, often found in canine species. It can present in the cutaneous, oral or ocular form, the latter being less common among animals. Clinical diagnosis is commonly used through its common morphological characteristics. However, the definitive diagnosis is made through histopathological and immunohistochemical examination. Most of the time, papilloma regress spontaneously, however, in some cases they are persistent and require treatment. The aim of this article is to report a clinical case of a dog with papillomavirus in the bulbar conjunctiva of the third eyelid. In this case, different treatment techniques were used, the combination of conjunctivectomy therapies, autohemotherapy and stimulation of the animal's immunity, culminated in a good patient response and up to six months of follow-up, there was no recurrence of the neoplasm in the dog.
