Paralysis and Eventration of the Diaphragm

Abstract: Diaphragmatic paralysis and eventration are rare and more often seen on the left side. Besides respiratory complaints such as dyspnea increased by effort, gastrointestinal complaints can be present as well. If there are symptoms and/ or lung function values are low, surgery is indicated in adults. Plication, applied for this purpose, has been performed by minimally invasive surgical procedures in recent years. The results have been satisfactory.
