Abstract:In this study, a novel unit cell design is proposed, which eliminates the buckling tendency of the auxetic honeycomb. The novel unit cell design is a more balanced, diagonally reinforced doubly re-entrant auxetic honeycomb structure (x-reinforced auxetic honeycomb for short).
