Parametric Analysis of the Performance of Steel-Concrete Composite Structures Designed with TBDY 2018

Abstract: Original scientific paperIn this study, the seismic behavior of steel-concrete composite buildings designed using ÇYTHYE 2016 and TBDY 2018 was investigated. For this purpose, composite moment resisting frame buildings with concrete filled steel tube columns and composite beams with 5, 10, 15 and 20 stories are modeled. Buildings are designed at high ductility (DCH) levels. During the design of the DCH class structures, the design was carried out for the ZA soil class for 0.79 g PGA in the region selected from… Show more

“…Susantha et al(Susantha et al, 2001) used experimental work on a large number of CFST elements (with different geometry and other mechanical parameters) and theorized calculations. The physical and mechanical properties of the CFST composite column used in the design models obtained are similar or close to the cross-section properties of the element used in previous studies in the literature(Etli, 2021(Etli, , 2022, 2022b, 2022a.…”

“…. Experimental data of test samples used in the literature for CFST(Baba et al, 1995;Huang et al, 2018;Srinivasan & Schneider, 1999;Tomii et al, 1977), and material models described above, and many modeled elements using fiber were examined by researchers(Etli, 2021(Etli, , 2022, 2022b, 2022a. It is stated that the results of these models, which are examined with the section model in the Seismostruct(Seismosoft, 2016) software, are obtained converging to the experimental test results (Boukhalkhal et al, 2019; Bruneau et al, 2008; Li et al, 2018; Xu et al, 2018; Zhang & Gao, 2019).…”

“…The vertical loads passing through the floors are defined as the loads of the frame beams, and the evenly distributed loads are defined as the loads. Calibrations of element material models and behavior models were obtained from previous studies (Etli 2021c(Etli , 2022Etli and Güneyisi 2020d, 2021c, 2022b, 2022aGüneyisi and Etli 2020). The expected material strength values defined in TBEC 2018 were used to describe the performances of steel and concrete materials used in CMRF elements in nonlinear behavior models.…”
