Abstract:The evidence that parasitic lineages exhibit elevated evolutionary rates is limited to Arthropoda and inconsistent. Similarly, the evidence that mitogenomic evolution is faster in species with low locomotory capacity (LC) is limited to a handful of animal lineages.
