The objective was to describe the involvement of users of community mental health services in the co-management of medication therapy from the perspective of professionals. Descriptive and exploratory qualitative research carried out using a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with 40 professionals from four Psychosocial Care Centers, analyzed through thematic content analysis with the help of the Atlas T.I software. Two categories emerged: 1. Involvement of users in co-management of therapy medicinal; 2. Autonomous Medication Management as a safe care strategy. The Autonomous Medication Management strategy has the potential to promote involvement, co-management, autonomy and harm-free medication. There is a need to develop co-management of drug therapy, considering the widespread influence of coercive processes related to the use of psychotropic drugs and the challenges of implementing co-participatory decision-making.
