Parenteral iron therapy in children with iron deficiency anemia: A single‐institution experience

Abstract: To the Editor, Oral iron is the preferred route of supplementation for iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in all age groups. In patients who do not tolerate or adhere to oral formulations, parenteral iron supplementation may be warranted. Studies on the efficacy and safety of intravenous (IV) iron in children with IDA are lacking.
