“…Bax, caspase‐3 and Bcl‐2 are both apoptosis‐related proteins. The increased expression levels of Bax and caspase‐3 can promote apoptosis, while Bcl‐2 can inhibit apoptosis . RT‐qPCR results showed that overexpression of GMDS‐AS1 significantly upregulated the expression levels of Bax and caspase‐3 and inhibited the expression of Bcl‐2 (Figure E,F).…”

“…Trillium tschonoskii Maxim is a perennial herb of the Trilliaceae, distributed in midwestern China (Li et al, 2005). PS VII (CAS number: 68124-04-9) is one of the main active ingredients extracted from Trillium tschonoskii Maxim, which exerted marked cytotoxic effects on several types of cancer cells (Li et al, 2014a;Li et al, 2014b;Zhou et al, 2019;Lin et al, 2021b). The mechanism studies showed that PS VII could induce apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, through regulating the Ras signaling pathway, thus inhibiting the growth of colorectal cancer cells (Li et al, 2014b).…”

“…In previous studies, many scholars had applied PS VII to treat with various tumor cell lines and animal models through multiple different experimental and detecting technologies, and then discovered and confirmed the antitumor potential of PS VII, including in HCC . As previously demonstrated, PS VII could inhibit the proliferation of tumor cells to inhibit the activity of cervical cancer cells, colorectal cancer cells, and lung cancer cells .…”

“…Recently, more and more attention has been paid to the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine, and using its active constituents to treat diseases has become a development trend in tumor therapy . Paris L , as a traditional Chinese medicine, is a member of the perennial herbs in Liliaceae family with great medicinal value . Paris saponin VII (PS VII), also called Dioscinin, Polyphyllin‐VII and Chonglou Saponin VII, is one of the major active constituents of Paris saponin with the molecular weight of 1031.18, and the chemical formula is C 51 H 82 O 21 (Figure ).…”
