Parity nonconserving proton-proton elastic scattering

Abstract: The parity nonconserving longitudinal analyzing powerĀ L is calculated in elastic pp scattering at the energies below the approximate inelastic region T lab = 350 MeV. The short-ranged heavy meson ρ and ω exchanges as well as the longer-ranged 2π exchanges are considered as the mediators of the parity nonconserving interactions. The DDH "best" coupling values are used as the parity nonconserving meson-N N couplings. Also three different parity nonconserving two-pion exchange potentials by various authors are c… Show more

“…So far, these contributions have been considered in a hybrid approach in Refs. [30,31]. In this paper, we investigate within a full EFT approach which ranges of h π and C are consistent with existing data and how these ranges relate to the above estimates and limits.…”

“…The contributions from including the ∆ resonance and two-pion exchange are studied in Refs. [184,182,221] in combination with the Reid93 [222] and DDH models. These contributions turn out to be significant at 221 MeV, the energy of one of the existing experimental results.…”
