“…ALP D1. The abundance of POME as palm oil industry waste in Indonesia and the cheaper economic value of POME compared to carbon sources from glucose and fructose make it the reason for it being used as a growth substrate for biosurfactant production in this research [5][6]. 1312 (2024) 012057 IOP Publishing doi:10.1088/1755-1315/1312/1/012057 2 Previous researcher have reported the biosurfactant activity of the bacteria Bacillus sp.…”

“…Having considered to supply plant's heat demand (i.e., 19,784 MWh th /year) through the combustion of part of biogas in a boiler instead of supplying from the grid, sensitivity analysis was performed over the source of heat production. By assuming the lower heat value (LHV) of biomethane (36 MJ/m 3 CH 4 or 10 kWh/ m 3 CH 4 (Panpong et al 2014;Firdaus et al 2017)) and 95% projected efficiency of modern boilers in 2030 (Elyasi et al 2021), approximately 44% of the biogas (i.e., 3,471 million m 3 per year biogas) shall be combusted in the boiler to meet plant's heat requirement (see boiler's emissions inventory in Table 5). It is worth bearing in mind that CO 2 and CH 4 emissions from biogas combustion were considered biogenic due to their non-fossil origin.…”
