Participant evaluation of an inpatient occupational therapy groups programme in brain injury rehabilitation

Abstract: Overall, consumer feedback on different aspects of the occupational therapy groups programme in brain injury rehabilitation was positive. Further in-depth investigation of patient perceptions of groups including processes that facilitate or challenge participation is warranted.

The concept of 'real world' preparation emerged strongly within this study, and it would be interesting to investigate whether other types of groups that may not focus on doing and practicing activities also facilitate real world preparation.…”
