PAS: Privacy-Preserving Authentication Scheme Based on SDN for VANETs

Abstract: Privacy disclosure has become a key challenge in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). Although IEEE, ERSI, etc. suggest that a pseudonym-based scheme is a solution, how to support pseudonym management and vehicle authentication is still an open issue. In this paper, a secure VANETs authentication scheme (PAS) is proposed, where software-defined network (SDN) is integrated as a suitable infrastructure to support anonymous authentication and pseudonym management, while removing the requirement for pseudonym certi… Show more

“…In this section, we focus on proposed solutions to deal with security threats and privacy protection. Various authentication protocols have been proposed for identity verification in the past recent years [25]. Most schemes focus on cryptography-based Authentication, Group Signature-based, and Blockchain-Based identification.…”

“…• According to the increased execution time of processing critical information in the SDN which is collected by the IoT, a new security-aware architecture to improve the QoS factors can be suggested [9]. If we have some critical information that cannot be evaluated on run-time, privacy conditions should be checked for critical information of the open-flow model.…”

“…With the widespread application of VANET, the security of private data between vehicles has become a primary concern [19,20]. To solve this problem, many scholars have proposed solutions [21][22][23][24][25].
