I grew up on the Laucala campus of the University of the South Pacific (USP) as my mother, Joan Teaiwa, worked there as a course developer in extension services from 1980 to 2000, and my elder sister, Teresia Teaiwa, as a lecturer in history/politics from 1994 to 2000. We took music lessons on campus from the wonderful Mr Ueta Solomona, played tennis at the USP courts, swam regularly at the USP pool, did exercise classes at the USP gym and I played on the White Fire basketball team led by USP Professor Randy Thaman and Bob Tuxon. 383 18.
