Passive Balancing of the Rotor with an Auto-Balancing Device with a Viscous Incompressible Liquid

Abstract: The use of liquid auto-balancers to compensate the operational changes in the imbalance of rotary systems without stopping them is of interest because of the relative structural simplicity of these devices, which are passive direct-acting regulators that do not require power supply and control systems to move correction masses. The experience of the study of passive auto-balancing devices (SBD) indicates that the existing theory (statements) of passive automatic balancing of the fluid is idealized and inaccura… Show more

“…Naturally, the transformation of the sought values into infinity when performing resonance ratios is connected only with the use of the ideal fluid model. When using the model of a viscous liquid, the perturbations at resonances would have finite values [57,61]. In the vicinity of resonances, there will only be an increase in perturbations, which is most pronounced only for "low-order" resonances, i.e., those that correspond to small values of n [57].…”

“…The results of the application of the proposed mathematical model of fluid dynamics in the ABD chamber with the introduced fluid viscosity parameter may also be interesting. We initiated experimental studies of the working fluid viscosity effect on the self-balancing process in [61].…”

“…The development of rational routes [26], the choice of processing modes of functional surfaces and equipment [27,28,29] to ensure the accuracy and quality of working surfaces [30,31,32] plays an important role during the manufacture of new parts for the restoration of worn parts of machines and equipment. Special attention is paid to careful static and dynamic balancing of rotors [33,34]. Recently there was published a paper [35] on optimal control for rotor imbalance suppression.…”

“…Therefore, means are used to increase the service life of the equipment, in particular various wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant coatings are used, which allow to rationally combine the properties of the coating material and the base, in particular, deposit-ed [6][7][8][9], laser [10], formed coating by electric spark alloying method [11,12], formed coating by hybrid ion-plasma discharge system [13] and chrome [14,15]. Ensuring high-quality balancing [16] and lubrication of elements of friction pairs is also important [17].…”
