Pathophysiology of sickle cell disease is mirrored by the red blood cell metabolome

Abstract: Emerging metabolomic tools can now be used to establish metabolic signatures of specialized circulating hematopoietic cells in physiologic or pathologic conditions and in human hematologic diseases.
