Pd-based Membranes

Abstract

He graduated with a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Eindhoven in 2005 within the field of process development and started at SINTEF shortly thereafter. His research interests span from process chemistry, membrane technology, hydrogen production, CO2 capture, and energy efficiency, to gas separation technologies. He has 54 publications in international peer-reviewed journals (h-index = 21) and has contributed to 10 book chapters and >150 conferences. Alessio Caravella is currently Associate Professor chairing the courses of Thermodynamics and Chemical Reactors Design at the Dept. of Environmental and Chemical Engineering (DIATIC) of the University of Calabria (Italy), as well as Associate Researcher at the Institute on Membrane Technology (ITM-CNR, Italy). His main research activities focus on the experimental analysis and simulation of hierarchical catalytic structures and membrane-assisted reaction and separation devices, with a particular regard to the application of Pd-based membranes devices to hydrogen purification. Recently, he is also investigating the adsorption properties of zeolites and coordination polymer particles for hydrogen separation from light gases. vii
