PEAI-Based Interfacial Layer for High-Efficiency and Stable Solar Cells Based on a MACl-Mediated Grown FA0.94MA0.06PbI3 Perovskite

Abstract: Among the 3D organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite (OIHP), mixed formamidinium and methylammonium cations lead iodide is one of the most promising for solar cell application. After optimizing the use of methylammonium chloride (MACl) additive for the preparation of compact, high quality and large crystal grain layers made of pure α-phase perovskite with FA0.94MA0.06PbI3 composition, the treatment of the perovskite surface by a 2-Phenylethylamonium iodide (PEAI) solution has been implemented. This treatment, with… Show more

“…It confirms our observation made for FA 1− x MA x PbI 3 PVK layers prepared in the presence of MACl additive that this element is mostly eliminated upon the annealing step above 150 °C. [ 18,19 ] K element was detected in the samples prepared with KCl additive and appeared quite homogeneously distributed.…”

“…They present long charges carriers diffusion lengths that favor their collection at the contacts, low exciton binding energy in the case of the 3D compounds that favors the charge separation and a direct optical transition. [ 1–19 ] Moreover, their optical bandgap can be tuned by playing on the material composition and can approach the Schockley–Queisser limit for the maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE). [ 9 ] As a result of the recent research efforts from the international scientific community, they now reach a certified record PCE of 25.5%.…”

“…Pauporté and co‐workers employed MACl as additive at 20–55 mol% of PbI 2 precursor for the growth of FA 1‐ x MA x PbI 3 PVK layers [36,67] . The average grain size increased continuously with MACl with average values at 604, 775 and 982 nm for 40, 48, and 55 mol%, respectively.…”
