“…Prior research suggests that the prescribing licensure rate is a key component of generating a positive impact on the population’s mental health via RxP (Hughes et al, in press). An educational intervention for psychologists designed to provide information on the empirical evidence related to RxP, such as reductions in suicide rates and increased access to pediatric mental health care (Choudhury & Plemmons, 2023; Hughes, McGrath, et al, 2023; Hughes et al, 2024), may improve indirect attitudes and subjective norms about prescribing and lead to increased licensure rates.
