Students' Standards in Correcting Faculty Members' Performance in Jordanian Universities from the Perspective of Al-Balqa Applied University Students' Case Study. College Student Journal, 2011, 45 (September) pp. 617-629.At a Jordanian university, 385 students completed a measure of the considerations on which they based their evaluations of faculty members. The characteristics of the faculty member, the faculty member's evaluation of students, and teaching performance were important considerations. The most important faculty characteristics were being optimistic and comfortable in the lecture hall, being lenient in applying university rules and policies, being levelheaded, and never humiliating students. In evaluating students, the most important items were providing model answers for test questions, granting degrees based on actual performance, giving students extra opportunities to improve their grades, and distinguishing students who perform exceptionally well. In teaching performance, the most important items were effective lecture management, being well organized, and not spending time on trivial subjects. (16 ref)-
