Pelargonium quercetorum Agnew. bitkisinin antioksidan aktivitesinin belirlenmesi

Abstract: Amaç: Antiparaziter olarak geleneksel kullanımı mevcut olan Geraniaceae familyasına dahil Pelargonium quercetorum Agnew.'in toplam fenolik madde miktarı ve antioksidan aktivitesinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: P. quercetorum'un toprak altı kısımlarından hazırlanan %70 metanol ve %11 etanol ekstreleri ile toprak üstü kısmından hazırlanan %70 metanol ekstresinin toplam fenolik, flavonoit ve flavonol içerikleri spektrofotometrik olarak incelenmiştir. Ekstrelerin antioksidan aktivitelerini belirlemek amac… Show more

“…As in the AgNPs synthesized from microorganisms in a previous study, the large dimensions can be attributed to the presence of plant phytochemicals adhering to the surface of the AgNPs and to the partial accumulation of the AgNPs. Karatoprak et al reported that while the total amount of avonoids in 70% methanolic P. quercetorum extract was (pq70) 64.95 ± 2.93 mgCA/g, 11% ethanol extract (pq11) was found as 46.63 ± 1.93 mgCA/g, and herba extract (pqh) was found as 30.89 ± 3.58 mgCA/g (Karatoprak et al 2018). It was assumed that during the pq70 formation, the presence of total phenolic, avonoids, and avonol contents may have had an effect, since these molecules tend to easily react with metal ions to form complexes, they can participate in the formation process of Ag Np to form small-sized nanoparticles.…”

“…Although there are limited studies on this traditionally used plant, it has been shown to cause apoptosis in lung and breast cancer cell lines. In a previous study, it was proved by us that it exhibits antioxidant activity [17][18][19].…”

“…Plants contain a wide variety of free radical scavenging molecules such as flavonoids, anthocyanins, carotenoids, vitamins and endogenous metabolites. Nowadays, the intense interest in natural-origin phenolic antioxidants is not only due to their protective and therapeutic properties against various diseases caused by oxidative damage, but also to their prolonging the life of food products (Matkowski et al, 2008;Karatoprak et al, 2018).…”

“…The taxon is generally distributed in Northern Iraq, it is distributed in Hakkâri province in Turkey. In addition to its medicinal use, this plant is also used for food purposes by the local people (Uce and Tunçtürk, 2014;Karatoprak et al, 2018). In our country, P. quercetorum is used to treat throat ailments and skin wounds, and also its seeds and leaves are used to burst boils.…”
