Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a form of corporate social responsibility towards the community and environment around the company. The biogas assistance program is one of PJT II's CSR programs in order to accelerate the handling of damage to the Citarum river watershed (DAS) and for the purpose of empowering the community, especially dairy farmers who come from members of the KPBS Pangalengan dairy farmer group. The aim of this research is to determine the mechanism for implementing the biogas assistance program as part of CSR activities and to analyze the benefits of implementing the biogas assistance program in developing the sustainability of dairy farming businesses. This research was conducted in November – December 2023. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach using the case study method. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews with informants selected purposively from twenty-one people consisting of the company, participants receiving assistance and implementing parties. The results of the research show that the implementation of the biogas assistance program has been implemented through a process planning, organizing, actuating, controlling (POAC) in the program mechanism, apart from that, the analysis of the program's objectives is to reduce pollution and damage to the Citarum watershed as a result of breeder activities and provide opportunities to increase income independently and sustainably and is an effort to increase breeder awareness to better protect the surrounding environment so that it can speed up the handling of damage to river watersheds that is currently occurring.

The development of biogas in community settlements is now very much needed. It is since people's uses of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) are very high but are not matched by its availability. Many areas in the Special Region of Yogyakarta are starting to switch to using renewable energy, biogas, for cooking. The utilization of biogas is now not only for rural communities but has penetrated urban communities. In Cangkringan Subdistrict, Sleman, many people have switched to using biogas as a substitute for LPG. However, many farmers still have not utilized livestock manure as alternative energy, namely biogas. In reality, many of the reasons people have not used livestock manure for alternative energy are due to a lack of knowledge about biogas. Besides, the beginning of biogas production starts in rural areas as, in rural settlements, many breeders have livestock, and rural areas are appropriate for farmers to raise livestock to plow fields. Lastly, urban areas have vital areas where biogas utilization is very difficult. Nevertheless, many apartments and even large companies have now switched to using alternative energy such as solar cells and even biogas.

Gedangan village, a dairy farming center, has many biogas reactors that are used for cooking and lighting petromax lamps. Previous community service activities resulted in the construction of three Biogas Power Plants (PLT-Biogas) capable of producing 15 kW of power but which were not fully utilized. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) is the approach method used to actively involve the community in the program. To optimize the PLT-Biogas, the service team rearranges the equipment and replaces the UPS with an inverter and battery charger before constructing a street lighting electricity network that can be used by the entire community. The next step is to provide operational and maintenance training for the long-term use of PLT-Biogas. As a result, the initial stage of electrical energy is currently used for street lighting in two hamlets, as well as freezers and water pumps, with a potential savings of 2,775.6 kWh per year. By converting biogas energy to electricity, this community service activity can help to kickstart the realization of an energy self-sufficient village.
