This study was conducted to (1) identify the content of ecological citizenship in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education subject textbook and (2) describe the development of ecological citizenship as teaching material in Pancasila and Citizenship Education subjects at the secondary education level. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis methods. Data collection was carried out through reading, observing the contents of the book, and taking notes with careful analysis of the ecological citizenship content contained in the textbook. The unit of analysis in this study was the content of ecological citizenship in the form of text, material descriptions, pictures, tables, and student competency test assignments containing material about the environment. The data were analyzed by examining the content on each page of the book, which consisted of several stages which are (1) data collection; (2) recording; (3) reduction; (4) conclusions; (5) description of study results. The results showed that thematically there was no material content that focused and specifically discussed ecological citizenship in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education subject textbook at secondary education. Limited content of the new environment was presented via pictures and short descriptions. The development of ecological citizenship in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education subject was carried out by developing core competencies and basic competencies of Pancasila and Citizenship Education which emphasize the formation of knowledge, skills, character of ecological citizenship competencies

This study aims to examine efforts to strengthen ecological citizenship through social studies learning based on a multicultural society's values. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, which was carried out on the IPS IPI Garut Study Program students as the research subject and the Garut Regency environmental care program as the object of its study. This paper reflects a growing social issue, namely the problem of the emergence of apathy or public indifference to various environmental development activities. Education is one of the strategic sectors, which is expected to make a real contribution and defend the Indonesian national identity. Social science, in this case, IPS, views that social problems in the 21st century do not only rest on the economic development sector or matters of a physical nature but also the development of the identity of the Indonesian nation as a pluralistic nation. Implementing social studies education in the 21st century is needed in a classroom context and only teaches theories and applied in social life. The results showed that one of the learning applications of social studies implemented in community activities is participation in environmental activities or what is known as ecological citizenship. But also in the development of the Indonesian nation's identity as a pluralistic nation. The development of the world of technology has provided many changes in the pattern of human life, including influencing environmental phenomena that have an impact on the way of life of citizens. To prevent environmental destruction. So ecological education is one of the efforts to continue the effort to create citizens who care about the environment with their environmental characteristics. This study aims to examine the ecological competence of elementary school students through civic education in building awareness of the environment. The approach used in this research is qualitative with the literature study method. The results of the analysis and study in this study indicate: 1) the competence of knowledge and ecological strategies of elementary school students is formed through civic education, 2) elementary school students can act on environmental issues, 3) elementary school students have the quality to address environmental issues through civic education. So that the conclusion in this study is that the ecological competence of elementary school students can be formed through civic education, the output of which is that these students have environmental skills and character in utilizing their environment.
