Albin Proppe's (1948) suggestion that " pemphigus acutus febrilis " is to be regarded as a manifestation of the Sanarelli-Schwartzman phenomenon gives credit to the ingenuity of the author but is without any foimdation. In cases which I have followed up, no pre-existing pyoderma was noted nor was there any suspicion aroused of the presence of septic foci.…”
