Penanganan Kegawatdaruratan pada Lansia dengan Optimalisasi Peran Caregiver di Masyarakat Pesisir Sidoarjo

Abstract

The role of caregivers in the elderly family is very important for the prevention of emergency cases that can occur at any time in the elderly. As we age, the organs in the human body naturally decline in function. These include the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, immune system, and nervous system. The decline in these functions can make a person more susceptible to serious medical conditions. Caregivers caring for the elderly at home do not always have a background in health education. Based on a survey in Gisik Cemandi Village, Sidoarjo, it was found that 10 caregivers did not know how to handle emergencies in the elderly. The purpose of this community service is to provide health education about handling emergency cases when the elderly is at home. It is hoped that this community service will increase caregiver knowledge about their role as family caregivers when an emergency occurs at home.
