This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the combination of glucomannan (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) and Moringa oleifera leaf extract on the lipid profile of hypercholesterolemic Wistar rats. This research design used True experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The animal used in this study was 24 male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) aged 8 weeks divided into 2 control groups and 6 treatment groups of glucomannan and Moringa oleifera leaf extract. The results of this study showed that there were significant changes in TC, TG, LDL-C, and HDL-C levels (p<0.05). It can be concluded that the combination of glucomannan (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) and Moringa oleifera leaf extract can change the lipid profile effectively in the P5 (80mg/kgBW GAmB: 120mg/kgBW MoEL) and P4 (120mg/kgBW GAmB:80mg/kgBW MoEL ) as the most influential group in reducing TG, TC, LDL-C levels and increasing HDL-C levels.

Fungal growth, particularly from species like Aspergillus, poses significant economic, agricultural, and health risks to humans due to aflatoxin production. Consequently, inhibiting aflatoxin synthesis has become a critical objective. In this study, researchers targeted the thioesterase (TE) domain of the Polyketide synthase enzyme for in silico docking experiments using AutoDock Vina. The aim was to identify potential inhibitors that could selectively target the TE domain. Various fatty acids from Lignosus rhinocerus were employed for this purpose, including lauric acid, decanoic acid, tetradecanoic acid-methyl ester, hexadecanoic acid, propionic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and oleic acid. Decanoic acid showed promising results with binding energy close to the standard, forming two conventional hydrogen bonds, and exhibiting hydrophobic interactions during docking with the 3ILS protein. These findings suggest that decanoic acid could be utilized for inhibiting and controlling aflatoxin contamination in agricultural crops.

Hyperpigmentation is a condition of darkening of the skin which is generally caused by an increase in melanin production. Melanin is produced in melanocytes by the enzyme tyrosinase. Piper crocatum contains flavonoid compounds that are known from previous research to inhibit tyrosinase. The goals of this study were to determine the tyrosinase inhibitory activity and total flavonoid content of seven accessions, as well as look at the Pearson’s correlation and clustering PCA (principal component analysis). The method used was water content analysis, extraction yield measurement, total flavonoids analysis, and in vitro tyrosinase inhibition. Based on the results, P. crocatum from Kendari had the best yield and total flavonoid content of 24.07% and 5.10 mg QE g-1, while P. crocatum from Bogor had the lowest water content with a value of 6.21% and the best in tyrosinase inhibition of 13.77. The correlation between total flavonoid content and percent inhibition showed a very weak correlation. The results of clustering formed four clusters of seven accessions based on total flavonoids and percent inhibition. The cluster was divided into Malang (506mDPL) and Jayapura (287mDPL), Banda Aceh (0.80mDPL) and Bandung (670mDPL), Samarinda (8mDPL) and Bogor (190-350m DPL), and Kendari (14mDPL). In conclusion, the correlation between total flavonoid levels and percent inhibition is very weak and regional diversity had a significant effect on total flavonoids and total inhibition.
