Beberapa syarat yang mahasiswa harus lakukan dalam menyelesaikan program sarjana (S1) salah satunya ialah membuat karya ilmiah dalam bentuk skripsi. Dalam penulisan skripsi, beberapa kasus penulisan skripsi mahasiswa memiliki topik judul yang sama. Dengan kesamaan topik pada judul yang dibuatoleh mahasiswa membuat kemungkinan isi skripsi yang dibuat menjadi mirip. Kemiripan tersebut tidak bisa dibilang sebagai bentuk plagiarisme. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan aplikasi yang bisa mendeteksi kemiripan antara dokumen skripsi dengan dokumen skripsi lainya agar dapat mengetahui apakah kalimat yang mirip di dalam dokumen skripsi mengandung plagiarisme atau tidak. Algoritma Winnowing digunakan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dari proses perbandingan dokumen serta menghasilkan nilai fingerprinting. Nilai fingerprinting kemudian dihitung dengan menggunakan Dice Distance dan Chebyshev Distance untuk mengetahui berapa persentase kemiripan antar dokumen skripsi.Aplikasi yang dibangun ini berhasil untuk mendeteksi kemiripan antara dokumen skripsi dengan menggunakan algoritma winnowing dan dapat beroperasi dengan baik. Hasil pengukuran Dice Distance adalah 23.87 % sedangkan dengan pengukuran Chebyshev Distance adalah 79, dan rata-rata waktu yang dihabiskan dalam memproses satu dokumen adalah 110.74 detik. Antara Dice Distance dan Chebyshev Distance jika dipaksa digabungkan akan mendapatkan hasil yang tidak sesuai dikarenakan perbedaan pengukuran nilai.

Current technological developments change physical paper patterns into digital, and this has a very high impact. Positive impact because paper waste is reduced, on the other hand, the rampant copying of digital data raises the amount of plagiarism that is increasing. At present, there are many efforts made by experts to overcome the problem of plagiarism, one of which is by utilizing the winnowing algorithm as a tool to detect plagiarism data. In its development, many optimizing winnowing algorithms used stemming techniques. The most widely used stemmer algorithms include stemmer porter and nazief-adriani. However, there has not been a discussion on the comparison of the effect of performance using stemmer on the winnowing algorithm in measuring the value of plagiarism. So it is necessary to research the effect of stemmer algorithms on winnowing algorithms so that the results of plagiarism detection are more optimal. The results of this study indicate that the effect of nazief-adriani stemmer on the winnowing algorithm is superior to the stemmer porter, only decreasing the detection performance of the 0.28% similarity value while the Porter stemmer is superior in increasing the processing time to 69% faster.

Stemming is a process used to search root words. Stemming can be implemented as preprocessing in text processing. There are many stemming algorithms, one of them is Nazief & Adriani and Idris. Nazief & Adriani algorithm is an algorithm created by Bobby Nazief and Mirna Adriani to find the root word of Bahasa Indonesia. While the Idris algorithm is an algorithm created by Norisma Idris to find the root words of Malay language. Indonesian and Malay have similar language styles, so researchers want to find out whether the Idris algorithm can be used as one of the Indonesian stemming algorithms. To know which algorithm is better, then in this research will be explained about process speed and accuracy of result of each of those algorithm. After knowing the result of comparison of stemming algorithm, hopefully can help you in choosing which algorithm will be used for find root word of Bahasa Indonesia.
