“…However, in the A2B2 treatment, there was a decrease in the number of worms with the initial number of worms of 400 grams decreasing to 293 grams. This proves that the quality of vermicompost based on potassium content is also determined by the number of earthworms and composting time (Husain et al, 2015). Potassium has an important role in the process of photosynthesis in the formation of protein and cellulose which functions to strengthen plant stems (Ekawandani and Kusuma, 2018).…”

“…This might be associated with the aggressiveness of the earthworm Perionyx excavates in decomposing organic matter from animal waste [27]. The animal waste was consumed by the earthworm so that it underwent decomposition assisted by soil microorganisms in the digestion of the earthworm, then animal waste was removed from the digestive tract in the form of vermicompost [1] [28]. Soil microorganisms in the digestion of earthworms decompose organic matter from animal waste and release CO 2 so that there is a decrease in organic C content.…”

“…The existence of a mutualism symbiosis between earthworms & microorganisms makes the elemental content in vermicompost increase in line with the treatment for the longest composting period. [12].…”

“…The existence of a mutual symbiosis between earthworms and microorganisms leads to the fact that the elemental content of vermicompost increases in proportion to the mass of the heaviest earthworms [12].…”
