The COVID-19 pandemic had become a situation that was enough to limit people's activities directly and avoid crowds as much as possible. Meanwhile, the need to continuously improve competence in managing waste was crucial to solving environmental problems. This paper aimed to describe the activities of assisting the making of compost for RW. 03 residents, Gebang Putih, Surabaya which was carried out virtually by using the WhatsApp group. This assisting activity was a follow-up activity from the previous offline training (Perwitasari, Fauziyah, & Mas'udah, 2021). To oversee the success of the Gebang Putih community's composting activities, the assistance was also carried out virtually. This WhatsApp group was a method that is quite effective in accommodating citizen questions and solutions provided based on discussions between group members. The satisfaction of using WhatsApp group as a means of assisting in composting was quite high, i.e., 81%. However, it was undeniable that several obstacles cannot be overcome through virtual assistance, including checking the ripe compost directly, not all training participants were willing to make compost independently at home. It was hoped that this mentoring activity will be one of the solutions for empowering residents in managing waste during the pandemic era.

A Method of Determining the C/N Ratio from Aerobically Treated Brem Compost Waste

The preparation of compost from brem waste has been carried out with the aim of utilizing brem waste into more useful materials. In this work, brem waste was collected from UD.Tongkat Mas, Madiun, East Java. Brem waste compost was processed by aerobic method by adding eggshell powder and M-Bio activator. The M-Bio activator solution that was added was varied with the volume of the solution, i.e., 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150ml. Here, we gave the sample nomenclature of CM50, CM75, CM100, CM125, and CM150, respectively, with the numbers on the back side indicating the volume of M-Bio activator added. Observations on brem compost were carried out for 10 days. Every 2 days interval, measurements of the C/N ratio were carried out on the compost. The manufacture of compost has been successfully made (based on SNI Standard 19-7030-2004) and has the best results by adding 100 ml of M-Bio activator (CM100) with a composting time of 10 days, with a C/N ratio of 11.42, and has no odor.

Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang budidaya kelor terutama dalam pemupukan masih rendah, sehingga produktivitasnya belum optimal. Aplikasi porasi dan pupuk hayati merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman kelor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi antara Aplikasi jenis porasi dan konsentrasi pupuk hayati terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil daun kelor. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Desa Dewasari, Kecamatan Cijeungjing, Kabupaten Ciamis pada bulan Agustus sampai dengan November 2022. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) fola faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor dan masing-masing faktor terdiri dari 3 taraf. Faktor pertama adalah jenis porasi yang terdiri dari tiga taraf yaitu porasi kotoran domba, porasi kotoran sapi, dan porasi batang pohon pisang. Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi pupuk hayati yang terdiri dari tiga taraf yaitu; 5 ml/L, 10 ml/L dan 15 ml/L. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara jenis porasi dengan konsentrasi pupuk hayati terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman kelor. Secara mandiri aplikasi porasi kotoran domba menghasilkan pertumbuhan tanaman kelor lebih baik. Public knowledge of Moringa cultivation is still low, so productivity is not optimal. The application of poration and biological fertilizer is one of the efforts to increase the productivity of Moringa plants. This research aims to determine the interaction between applications type of pore and concentration of biological fertilizer on the growth and yield of Moringa leaves. The experiment was carried out in Adultari Village, Cijeungjing District, Ciamis Regency from August to November 2022. The experimental design used was a factorial Randomized Block Design consisting of two factors and each factor consisting of 3 levels. The first factor is the type of poration which consists of three levels, namely sheep manure poration, cow manure poration, and banana tree trunk poration. The second factor is the concentration of biological fertilizer which consists of three levels, namely; 5 ml/L, 10 ml/L and 15 ml/L. The research results show that nobe foundinteraction between the type of pore and the concentration of biological fertilizer on the growth of moringa plants. Independent application of sheep manure poration results in better growth of Moringa plants.
