The Content of fat and oil in laundry wastewater can cause environmental problems. This study aims to determine the effect of giving EM4 in the preliminary test of simple filtration bioventing techniques on the treatment of laundry wastewater. The initial work step is to design a bioventing using an aerator and sand media, while simple filtration using gravel, coconut fiber, durian skin, zeolite stone and foam filter media. The research was conducted with two treatments in the bioventing tub, the first treatment of 2000 ml of laundry wastewater added 15 ml of EM4 and the second treatment of 2000 ml of laundry wastewater without adding EM4. On the sixth day, two treatments were added with Pistia stratiotes plants as phytoremediation and molly balloon fish as an indicator. Testing of pH, temperature, DO, color and odor parameters was carried out in the inlet and outlet basins. The results of the research on the provision of EM4 in the laundry wastewater treatment process have a significant effect on reducing the pH parameter value, very significantly reducing the temperature value and significantly increasing the DO value. The color parameter shows a change solid white to digestible white, while the odor parameter shows data from pungent to not pungent. Observation of molly balloon showed no dead fish. This study concludes that there is an effect of giving EM4 to the parameters values of pH, Temperature, DO, Color, and Odor in the preliminary test of simple filtration bioventing techniques and phytoremediation of laundry wastewater treatment.
