Abstract

The perception of the risk of contracting COVID-19 is an important variable that is considered in making decisions, including cycling activities. The purpose of this study was to describe the perceived risk of contracting COVID-19 by bicycle users during the pandemic, and to analyze the effect of the perceived risk of contracting COVID-19 by cyclists in the city of Jakarta on the frequency of cycling during the pandemic. pandemic. The data was obtained from the distribution of online questionnaires to cyclists in the city of Jakarta during the pandemic. The results of the analysis showed that the influence of the level of hazard variables, feelings of vulnerability, the effectiveness of risk management methods, and self-efficacy had a positive effect on the frequency of cycling. It was also found that cyclists in Jakarta City considered COVID-19 to be very dangerous and they felt vulnerable while cycling. Then the Jakarta City cyclists feel that the effectiveness of the handling methods used is good and they feel confident that they can overcome the risk of contracting COVID-19 when cycling caused by other factors.
