The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the use of freshwater. Freshwater has an essential role in preventing the spread of Covid-19 related to the implementation of health protocols also Clean and Healthy Living Behavior. The important factors that influence water use are socioeconomic conditions, including income level, type of work, and education level. The spread of Covid-19 significantly occurs in urban areas. Bantul village is the center of government, economy and one of the planned areas of urban settlements in Bantul Regency. Bantul village is also a hinterland of the Yogyakarta agglomeration area. This study was conducted to determine the influence of socio-economic conditions on the significance of changes in water use during the Covid-19 pandemic to implement health protocols in Bantul village. The data was obtained through interviews with 99 respondents based on random sampling techniques. This research was conducted with quantitative methods and descriptive analysis techniques. The result shows an increase in freshwater use during the pandemic, particularly washing hands and taking a shower. The highest increase in freshwater use is in Kurahan Hamlet. While in Grujugan Hamlet, there has been no increase. The increase in freshwater use indicates the suitable implementation of health protocols.

Kandungan kalsium dan besi yang berlebihan dalam air minum dapat menimbulkan masalah kesehatan diantaranya karies dan urolithiasis. Teknologi penyaringan air menggunakan membran Reverse Osmosis (RO) dinilai sebagai solusi untuk mengurangi zat anorganik pada air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar kalsium dan besi dalam air minum soft water mengalami penurunan setelah diolah menggunakan teknologi RO. Kadar kalsium dan besi diukur konsentrasinya dengan menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil pengukuran diperoleh, pada sampel A kandungan besi mengalami persentase penurunan 100% dan sampel B penurunan sebesar 74,43%. Kandungan kalsium sampel A mengalami persentasi penurunan 97,75% dan sampel B persentase penurunannya sebesar 100%. Pada sampel C dan D tidak mengalami demineralisasi kalsium dan besi. Kadar kalsium pada semua sampel memenuhi syarat kualitas air minum. Sedangkan kadar besi hanya memenuhi syarat kualitas air minum pada sampel A, B, dan D, sedangkan pada sampel C tidak memenuhi syarat.

The multiplying number of population in the City of Yogyakarta has resulted in a larger volume of wastes in the region. People living on the riverbanks are unfortunately in the habit of discarding domestic waste directly to the river channel, worsening the already polluted water. This study was intended to analyze the characteristics of the municipal wastewater contaminating Belik River. During the water quality test, a rapid investigation method and laboratory analysis were employed. The sampling in the field was based on river segments and travel time of river water. Based on the laboratory test results, the concentrations of phosphate, BOD, and COD in the water bodies had exceeded the standard for Class II water quality indicating pollution due to frequent disposal of household wastes like detergents. The higher the BOD and COD levels, the more unsuitable the water for fisheries and agricultural practices.
