Pengaruh Sumber Benih dan Famili Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Mahoni Daun Lebar (Swietenia macrophylla King.) Umur Tujuh Bulan

Abstract: Swietenia macrophyllaKing. is an exotic species from Latin America which have been planted in Indonesia since 1870. This species is a good wood source for construction timber which is quite important in Indonesia. This study was conducted to determine the effect of seed source and family on S. macrophylla seedling growth which may be useful for supporting breeding program of this species. The seeds were collected from four seed sources: Banjar -West Java, Samigaluh -Kulonprogro, Bondowoso -East Java and Lombok… Show more

“…Asal populasi dan pohon induk seringkali dinyatakan sebagai faktor yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tinggi dan diameter tanaman (Mashudi, Susanto, & Baskorowati, 2019;Mashudi, Pudjiono, Rayan, & Sulaeman, 2012;Setiadi & Susanto, 2012). Dalam penelitian ini hanya populasi yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tinggi dan diameter tanaman faloak.…”

“…Good ready-to-plant seedlings exhibit sturdy stems, upright growth, healthy shoots, porous media, and strong roots that firmly anchor in the medium (Kurniaty & Danu 2012). In addition, healthy sengon seedlings should have no signs of pest and disease infestation on leaves, stems, branches, or roots and have a fresh appearance with no color changes on these plant parts (Naemah & Susilawati 2015).…”

“…However, seedling production also encounters controllable and uncontrollable risks, leading to seedling damage or production failures. Moreover, the source of seeds also significantly affects the germination rate, growth, and height of the stem (Mashudi et al 2019). The germination rate of seeds becomes crucial in high-capacity sengon seedling production (Sudomo 2012).…”
