Research with the addition of fermented mint leaves in drinking water aims to determine the effect of treatment on the percentage of carcass weight, liver and heart. This research was carried out for 2 months in the Animal Feed and Nutrition Laboratory and in the broiler cage at the Livestock Production Laboratory, Payakumbuh State Agricultural Polytechnic. This study started from DOC until the age of 35 days, as many as 100 broilers were the subjects, 5 treatments and 4 replications were given. The treatments were without the addition of fermented mint leaves (A), the addition of 0.3% fermented mint leaves in drinking water (B), the addition of 0.6% fermented mint leaves in drinking water (C), the addition of 0.9% fermented mint leaves in drinking water. drinking water (D) and the addition of 1.2% fermented mint leaves in drinking water (E). The basal ration consisted of corn, palm oil meal, soybean meal, fish meal, coconut oil and top mix. The variables measured were the percentage of carcass weight, liver, and heart. The research method used a completely randomized design. The results showed that the addition of fermented mint leaves in drinking water had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the percentage of carcass weight, liver and heart. The conclusion is that the addition of fermented mint leaves in drinking water up to a level of 1.2% can be tolerated by broilers until the age of 5 weeks.

The use of closed-house cages is one of the technological innovation efforts to deal with the adverse effect of environmental conditions or changing weather. Setting environmental conditions will make broilers feel comfortable. The type of cage with a double deck system in a closed house will minimize the limited land area. In addition, the implementation of the closed-house double deck is expected to have a positive impact on increasing broiler production. This study aims to determine the pattern of Edi Sujarwo Farm’s closed-house double deck. The method used is descriptive. Data were collected using primary and secondary data. The result showed that Edi Sujarwo Farm’s Closed House Double Deck cage uses a cage construction that is safe for broilers and workers. The cage leads from east to west with a temperature of 260C - 320C with a humidity of 70%. The feeders are baby chick and hanging feeders. The watery system used is a nipple drinker. Other equipment used in the form of temptation, generator, curtain, and high-pressure sprayer. The ground floor and the first level consist of 6 blowers on floor units. Cooling pad used (150 cm x 60 cm) with a thickness of 15 cm. Biosecurity and sanitation programs are carried out before and after harvest.

Pemanfaatan bahan pakan inkonvensional merupakan salah satu alternatif untuk mengurangi biaya pakan. Limbah tepung roti yang merupakan sisa dari pabrik pembuatan roti dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pakan alternatif sumber energi pada ransum broiler untuk mengurangi pemakaian jagung. Limbah roti mengandung Gross Energy 4217 Kkal/kg, Protein Kasar (PK) 10,25 % dan Lemak (LK) 13,42 %. Limbah tepung roti ini mempunyai gross energi yang cukup tinggi sehingga dapat mengurangi pemakaian jagung dalam formulasi ransum broiler. Keamanan pemanfaatan limbah tepung roti sebagai ransum broiler dapat dilihat dari organ dalam broiler seperti berat hati, gizzard dan panjang usus. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen dengan membandingkan dua perlakuan yang terdiri dari 2 perlakuan yang terdiri dari 2 jenis ransum yaitu ransum J ( konsentrat + dedak padi + jagung) dan ransum R : konsentrat + dedak padi + tepung limbah roti. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji T. Parameter yang diamati adalah persentae bobot gizzard, persentase bobot hati dan panjang usus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05) antara 2 jenis perlakuan terhadap organ dalam yang meliputi persentase bobot gizzard, persentase bobot hati dan panjang usus. Pemberian limbah tepung roti tidak mempengaruhi persentase berat gizzard, berat hati dan panjang usus (organ dalam) ayam broiler sehingga limbah tepung roti dapat mensubsitusi kelangkaan jagung sebagai salah satu bahan pakan ayam broiler yang nantinya akan menekan biaya pakan.
