Pengembangan modul pembelajaran menulis teks berita berbasis metode karyawisata

Abstract

Writing is an activity that requires cooperation between all senses and thoughts to produce correct information. Especially in writing news, there are rules that must be obeyed so that the writing that is written has news value, among others, the 5W + 1H elements. The problem of this research is that students have not been able to write news texts due to the lack of adequate learning resources. Therefore, the aim of this research is to develop teaching materials in the form of a news text writing module based on the field trip method. This research was conducted with the Borg & Gall development model which includes three steps, namely (1) preliminary research, (2) development and validation, and (3) testing and revision. This study involved a number of students and teachers from three junior high schools (SMP) in Pesisir Barat Regency, Lampung Province. With the development result module that has been validated by material experts, media experts, and practitioners, the researchers conducted trials. In addition, with the one group pretest posttest design, the researcher processed the data on the difference in student scores before and after the use of the learning module to write the developed news text. The results of this study indicate that the developed module can answer students' learning challenges in developing news text writing skills. By applying the field trip method, students can elaborate on the results of their observations with their senses and thoughts to write news texts.
