ABSTRAK
Penelitian pengaruh exercise terhadap kualitas spermatozoa pada sapi simmental dilaksanakan di Laboratorium UPTD Inseminasi Buatan Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Peternakan Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh exercise terhadap kualitas spermatozoa sapi simmental. Penelitian ini mengunakan tiga ekor sapi jantan yang berumur 2-3 tahun. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. P0: spermatozoa ditampung tanpa exercise. P1: spermatozoa ditampung dengan exercise 5 menit. P2: spermatozoa ditampung dengan exercise 10 menit. P3: spermatozoa ditampung dengan exercise 15 menit yang dilakukan sebelum penampungan. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini meliputi gerak massa, gerak individu, konsentrasi, viabilitas (persentase hidup – mati). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemeriksaan adalah volume semen rata-rata 4,2 ml dengan rataan 2,5 – 7,5, warna putih susu dan krem, pH 7 konsistensi sedang-kental. Rataan gerak massa 2,35 ± 0,25. Gerak individu 2,00 ± 0,00, konsentrasi 1.946 ± 179,20, viabilitas 77,11 ± 3,14 dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan exercise tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kualitas spermatozoa sapi simmental.

ABSTRACT
The study of the effect of exercise on the quality of spermatozoa in simmental cattle was carried out in the UPTD Laboratory of Artificial Insemination of the Food and Animal Husbandry Service of North Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study was to find out how much influence exercise has on the quality of simmental cow spermatozoa. This study used three bulls aged 2-3 years. The data analysis used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. P0: spermatozoa are collected without exercise. P1: The spermatozoa is accommodated by a 5-minute exercise. P2: spermatozoa are accommodated by a 10-minute exercise. P3: Spermatozoa are collected by a 15-minute exercise carried out before the shelter. The parameters observed in this study included mass motion, individual motion, concentration, viability (percentage of life - death). The results showed that the examination was an average cement volume of 4.2 ml with an average of 2.5 - 7.5, milky white and creamy, pH 7 medium-thick consistency. Average mass motion 2.35 ± 0.25. Individual movements of 2.00 ± 0.00, concentration of 1.946 ± 179.20, viability of 77.11 ± 3.14 can be concluded that exercise treatment did not significantly affect the quality of simmental cow spermatozoa.
